“And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Most High God fell there upon me. Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire; from the appearance of his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the color of amber. And he put forth the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven and brought me into the visions of The Lord to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looks toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy. And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain. Then said He unto me, son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry. He said furthermore unto me, son of man see you what they do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But turn yet again, and you shall see greater abominations. And He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then said He unto me, son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dug in the wall, behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abomination that they do here. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about. And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Ya’azanyah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. Then said He unto me, son of man, have you seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? For they say the Most High sees us not; The Most High has forsaken the earth. He said unto me, Turn yet again, and you shall see greater abominations that they do. Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord’s house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz. Then said he unto me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn yet again, and you shall see greater abominations than these. And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house, and behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs toward the temple of the Most High, and their faces toward the east; and they worshiped the sun toward the east. Then He said unto me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for the have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and lo, they put the branch to their nose. Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them” Ezekiel 8
Are you hiding anything? Do you often forget that although others can not see what you do, God does? Although this vision was shown to Ezekiel many years ago, it is still relevant today.
Just as many of today, the Elders of the House of Israel forsook God and said “The Most High has forsaken the Earth…The Most High does not see us.” In verse 12, the Most High says, “Have you seen what the ancients of the House of Israel do in the dark?” The ancients are those ones who have experienced the power of God many times and have been selected to serve the temple of the Most High, they are the Elders. Yet, before the face of God, they have decided to serve idols behind closed doors, in the dark; as if God did not know.
God knows and sees everything we do. Many have turned to serving foreign gods and idols in secret. Today, just about everything is approved in the eyes of mankind. People often tell those who choose to obey God to “lighten up a bit” “stop being so serious” “stop putting God in a box because “God is in everything” “this is okay” “that is okay”. But for some reason what God requires of us is something to be debated and refused.
According to many of today, “obeying God” is considered as “putting God in a box”. Honestly, “putting God in a box” is what we often do when we operate in disobedience. We desire to make God fit into our life. We want God to accept any and every thing we accept. Today everything is approved by the “god” that mankind has created. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20
The Most High said, “Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here?” We make light of the things of God whenever we accept anything that goes against the commandments of God, the laws of God. Some people feel that it is okay do certain things because to them it is not a big deal.
I have noticed a rise of syncretism. This is very dangerous. People are merging Old Age, New Age, Hindu, Buddhist, and Zen beliefs with Judaism, Christianity, etc. We must be careful. “A little yeast leavens the whole dough” 1 Corinthians 5:6. God does not take these things lightly. Be careful of the mixing of different doctrines. This is something God has warned us about for years. Many are being deceived into believing that there is nothing wrong with this.
“Then we will no longer be like immature children, tossed and carried about by every wind of doctrine and teachings, by the cunning and craftiness of men, who lie in wait to deceive.” Ephesians 4:14
Have you been hiding anything? Have you been serving idols? Have you been incorporating foreign doctrines into your life thinking it is not a big deal? Have you been practicing other teachings? Have you forsaken God, your first love? Have you been making God fit into your own box?
Joshua (Yahushua) said, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15
